Lojong is a one-thousand-year-old Tibetan Buddhist teaching drawn from "The Root Text of the Seven Points of Training the Mind" originally taught by the renowned 8th century Bengali Buddhist master, Atisa Dipamkara Srijnana. Lojong offers practitioners a form of “spontaneous contemplation” that reveals ordinary experiences to be extraordinary opportunities to wake up. In this introductory talk, participants will: receive a brief overview of Lojong or “Mind training”; learn mindfulness awareness meditation according to the Kagyu-Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism; and discuss the principles of absolute and relative bodhi-citta.
